I think I have always been a photographer, I just didn’t know it yet. I found my grandmother’s camera when I was 7 and never put it down. As I got older, I was always tearing out photos from National Geographic, Surfer Magazine, and Outside Magazine and hanging them on my wall.
I feel as though I have been faced with a conundrum lately and it has to do with having children.
I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream. – van Gogh.
Oh my gosh, my trip to New Mexico and Utah was a huge success! As many of you may know, the reason for my trip was to work on my new photography project called Woman. (The post before this described how this project started, or you can read more about it here.)
I am about to embark on a road trip through New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah with one of my dearest friends, Samantha. Samantha and I have always loved the outdoors and she has motivated me in too many ways to count. She is a Montessori school teacher with a passion for children and the outdoors. She is a master fly fisherwoman and a great rafter and kayaker. Pretty much one of the most amazing women I know. I called her up because I am working on a new series, Woman, which started while I was on a solo cross-country road trip.
